Before you continue

Travelling with a public transport chip card requires a different MyGVB account than for travelling with OVpay (debit card/credit card). So you can create and have 2 different MyGVB accounts if you travel with a debit card as well as with a public transport chip card. In the GVB app, you can only log in with your MyGVB account public transport chip card.

You can create a MyGVB account via our public transport chip card or OVpay web shop. You will receive an e-mail with instructions to activate you MyGVB account.

With a MyGVB account, you can easily manage and view your information online. You no longer have to visit one of our GVB Service & Ticket desks or call our Customer Service. Here you can read more about all the things you can do with a MyGVB account.

What can I do with a MyGVB public transport chip card?

Manage your personal information

View and manage your personal information and contact details. You can even provide an authorisation for a new bank account number. Your personal information also includes changing your password or registering for the GVB Newsletter.

Manage your travel products

After linking your public transport chip card to your MyGVB account, you will be able to see your balance on this card. You can also view and change your subscription. For example, you can modify or suspend your Flex subscription or modify your selected zone of your Randstad North Zone subscription. After you have modified your subscription, go to a ticket machine to collect and activate the modification.

View your orders, travel history and invoices

With a MyGVB account you can easily make purchases in our web shop, especially if it concerns a repeat purchase. You will find such purchases in your orders and eventually on your invoices. You can only see your travel history with GVB Flex.

Tips

Via your MyGVB account in our GVB app Gappie, you can also switch on Travel cost notifications. You will then receive an alert when your travel costs exceed a certain amount per month. This is only possible if you have a GVB Flex subscription.

What do you do with my information in my MyGVB account?

Which personal data are processed and for what purpose?

When creating an account, you are registered on a one-off basis with at least your e-mail address. You can also opt to share your contact details, date of birth, public transport chip card number, product details, financial data, favourite line number(s) or personal settings and preferences with us.

We use your data to administer your MyGVB account. We enter modifications that you make to your account in our systems so that personal data is always correct and complete.

What can I do with MyGVB OVpay?

With a MyGVB OVpay account, you can manage and view your information online:

  • Manage your GVB Flex subscription

  • View your orders, travel history and invoices

A MyGVB OVpay account is only useful and necessary if you want to travel with a GVB Flex subscription on your debit card, credit card, mobile phone or smartwatch.

If you travel with your debit card without a subscription, we advise you to link your debit card in our GVB app Gappie. You can then review the journeys you make with us and the travel costs.

View and manage your personal information and contact details. You can even provide an authorisation for a new bank account number or change your password.

Manage your travel products

After linking your debit card, credit card, mobile phone or smartwatch to your MyGVB account, you can review your GVB Flex subscription. You can view your subscription and change it to a different Flex option. You can transfer your subscription to a different debit card — for example, from your plastic debit card to the debit card on your mobile phone.

View your orders, travel history and invoices

View your travel history and the costs you have incurred when travelling with GVB. Via the menu ‘Invoices’ in your MyGVB account, you will find an overview of your invoices for the monthly fixed amount for GVB Flex.
