Before you go any further
A barcode ticket via the GVB app or other apps cannot be used for a discount on the parking rate. It is also not possible to use OVpay, which means traveling with your debit or credit card on public transport, for a reduced parking rate.
Which public transport tickets give you a reduced parking rate?
You are eligible for the affordable parking rate with:
GVB P+R card
OV-chipkaart
paper chip card
The P+R card for transport with GVB is only available in a P+R machine at the P+R locations Johan Cruijff ArenA, Bos en Lommer, Olympic Station and RAI.
You can buy a paper ticket from the conductor on the tram or on a ticket vending machine at the metro station. Buying a ticket from the tram driver or bus driver is no longer possible.
How does the P+R ticket work?
The GVB P+R ticket from the P+R machine allows you to make two trips (back and forth) with a GVB tram, bus or metro from the P+R locations of the municipality of Amsterdam. After checking in at the bus, tram or metro, the P+R ticket is valid for a maximum of one hour. Within this hour you can make unlimited transfers between the different vehicles and lines. The second hour starts when you check in again after the first hour has expired.
