For what purpose does GVB use your personal data?
We use customer research (including the GVB Customer Panel) for research into the satisfaction of travellers about our services, products, stops and stations. The opinion of our customers is key in this effort. The results of this research are analysed. We can use them to further improve our service and the traveller experience. You can voluntarily register for this as well as unsubscribe at any time.
Which personal data does GVB process?
For the performance of customer research, GVB uses the data provided by you for participation. These are:
contact details (to send you the questionnaire and to share the results with you);
travel frequency;
travel product data;
modes of transport which you use;
reason for travel;
age;
education;
work situation / employment status;
and sometimes physical limitation (in connection with the accessibility of our public transport).
The answers to the completed questionnaires are processed on behalf of GVB by a research agency into abstract (aggregated) data which GVB then receives. GVB cannot therefore trace the results back to individuals.
Basis for processing
The basis for the processing of personal data for customer research is consent.
By registering for participation in the customer research, you give us your consent. You can always withdraw your consent for participation at any time. To do so, click on “Unsubscribe” at the bottom of the e-mail which you have received from us for the customer research.
Retention period
The answers to the questionnaires are anonymised by the processor six (6) months after their completion. We retain your other personal data for as long as you are registered as a customer research participant. If you unsubscribe for participation, your personal data will be deleted.
With whom do we share the data?
We use a research agency for the processing of the answers to the questionnaires. This research agency is a processor of GVB. On the instructions of GVB, the agency processes the results into abstract (aggregated) data which is not traceable to individuals and which is then provided to us.
