Metro travel rules

The following rules apply in the metros.

Do not smoke

Smoking is not permitted on our vehicles.

Valid proof of travel

Did you check in? A valid travel pass is required on the vehicle.

Noise pollution

Please do not disturb your fellow passengers with loud (phone) discussions or music.

Bicycle permitted

You may purchase a special ticket and take your bicycle on board, but not in the rush hours, 07:00 – 09:00 and 16:00 – 18:30. Your bicycle must not cause a nuisance to other passengers.  

There are no rush hours on Saturday, Sundays, and national holidays.

Eating and drinking is permitted

For your safety and that of other passengers, please use a lid on your (hot) drinks. Food with an unpleasant smell is not permitted. Please keep stations and vehicles clean.

No feet on the seats

No feet on the seats. This keeps the seats clean and available for your fellow passengers.

Strollers and wheelchairs

Please place your stroller or wheelchair in the designated spot. Fold your stroller up when there is no room available. Wheelchairs take precedence over strollers.

No alcohol or drugs

No alcohol or drugs may be used on the vehicle.

Video surveillance

There are surveillance cameras in the vehicle. GVB staff cannot access the recordings.
