Cancelling subscriptions and travel products

Cancelling a subscription or another travel product can be done in various ways. Below is an overview of the options. The easiest method is doing it via your MyGVB account.

Annual subscription

You can discontinue your annual subscription on a monthly basis in MyGVB. Discontinuation is possible from the next month and depends on the payment collection date. Note! In this case, you will lose the 2 free months at the end of the term of your subscription. 

If you have concluded a subscription at a GVB Service & Tickets counter, you can request a discontinuation via the Customer Service web form. Here, too, the discontinuation is possible from the next month. Clearly indicate as from which date the discontinuation should take place (not retroactively), your public transport chip card number with the card’s final date, your name/address/city details, and your bank account number. You will receive a message from us when your subscription has been discontinued. However, you will need to go to the vending machine to collect the discontinuation! Only then has your subscription actually been terminated.

Business annual subscription

This is carried out via your employer. Your employer can discontinue the subscription for you. 
If you have a business subscription via the municipality of Amsterdam, Sigra or the UvA, you can discontinue your subscription yourself. We refer you to the user’s guide which you will find in the business portal.  You will receive an e-mail message when your subscription has been discontinued. However, you will need to go to a vending machine to collect the discontinuation! Only then has your subscription actually been terminated.

Monthly subscription

A monthly subscription cannot be terminated in the interim. 
A Randstad Noord Zone monthly subscription can only be terminated early up to and including the 2nd day of the subscription’s validity date if you have not yet used it for travel. To do this, fill in the Customer Service web form on our website. Don’t forget to mention your public transport chip card number and the final date of the public transport chip card, as well as your bank account number.

GVB Flex subscription

Discontinuation is now temporarily available after 1 month (normally after 3 months) after the commencement date of GVB Flex and only as from the first of the month. Request a discontinuation in your MyGVB account. You will then receive a message that you will need to go to a vending machine to collect the discontinuation!  Only then will your GVB Flex subscription actually be terminated as from the discontinuation date. Remember that when you again order GVB Flex in the future, the first month (normally the first 3 months) during which you may not discontinue will take effect again.
