During the summer school holidays some of our lines will run less often and some special school buses are out of service. And because the metro tunnel is closed, metros can not run between Central Station and Amstel Station. Read more

The trams, buses and metro lines run from 06.00 in the morning to 00.30 at night. Between 00.30 and 07.30 in the morning, you can use the night buses. GVB 24/48/72/96 hours tickets are also valid on night buses. If you do not have one, you can buy a GVB nightbus single ticket from the driver. Read more

There are two different PT Smart Cards: the personalized OV-chipkaart and the anonymous OV-chipkaart. You can reload the e-purse on both of these cards, and you can travel anywhere with both of these cards. But there are a number of differences. Read more
