1. If a validated travel pass is not or only partially used, the passenger may request a full or partial refund of the fare or request to be granted exemption from possible outstanding payment obligations on submission of this travel pass, all this pursuant to valid legal standards. Weekly and monthly travel passes should be sent, preferably by registered mail to Postkantoren BV, afdeling restituties ov, postbus 30444, 3503 AG Utrecht. Annual travel passes should be sent to the sales outlet where the travel pass was purchased.

Refund of the fare shall be effected, or exemption of the payment obligations shall be granted only: a. if a travel pass will not be used and the passenger requests reimbursement or exemption from payment obligations prior to the start of the validity date, b. if a travel pass with a minimum validity of one week will not be used to the full. In such a case reimbursement will only apply to the remaining valid days after the claim for reimbursement has been submitted. c. If a duplicate travel pass has been issued, this duplicate must be submitted with the original travel pass.

The person authorised to refund the travel fare or grant exemption from payment obligations may charge the administration fee specified by the ministry for the processing of such a request.

A strip-card (strippenkaart) remains valid for twelve months after the fare of that strip-card has been changed. No refunds are applicable to a strip-card.
