Section 10 - Rights and duties of passenger

  1. A passenger must hold a valid travel pass unless he is entitled to being transported free of charge. A passenger is obliged to pay the fare in advance or upon start of the journey. During the journey he must be able to show a valid travel pass at the first request.

  2. A passenger refusing to show or submit the compulsory travel pass at first demand, or is using an illegally altered or otherwise manipulated travel pass, misuses a travel pass or hinders or interferes with the control of travel passes, owes Transport Company a fixed amount set by the Minister of Transport and Public Works on top of the fare due.

  3. After establishing non-compliance with the obligation under subsection 2 of this section, the passenger must identify himself by producing at first demand one of the legally recognized proofs of identification.

  4. The passenger must follow the instructions that are given by the Transport Company or its staff to either maintain the stipulations of these General Conditions or ensure order, peace, safety or good public conduct in the waiting areas, at the stations and at the stops of the public transport vehicles.

  5. The passenger must sit in one of the passenger seats or stand in the official passenger standing area.

  6. The passenger soiling, damaging or stealing any part of a waiting area, a vehicle, items and facilities inside or outside stations, stops and other property owned or used by the Transport Company, or whose hand-luggage causes damage in any way, is liable to pay damages to the Transport Company. Compensation is not required if damage was caused by circumstances which a cautious passenger could not have avoided and insofar as the passenger has been unable to prevent its consequences.

  7. When a person of over eighteen accompanies a child under twelve years of age, this guardian must ensure that this child does not act contrary to these General Conditions.
