- Transport is provided on the basis of and pursuant to fares and types of travel passes decreed in or approved by sections 41 and 42 of the Passenger Transport Act.

Free travel is provided for:
a. children under four years of age, on condition they do not require a separate seat,
b. one person of at least twelve years of age accompanying a passenger, who is in possession of a public transport companion ticket (OV-Begeleiderskaart),
c. one dog accompanying a disabled passenger provided this dog can be identified as a registered guide dog (in training) for the visually impaired or a disability assistance dog (in training) of the assistance dog foundation (Stichting Hulphond Nederland).

Specific ticket fares may apply on the ground of certain criteria (age, domicile, etc.). The passenger is held to specify these criteria prior to purchasing the transport ticket.
